The Truffle is an excellence of our agrifood and a niche that must be supported. Including this product in the budgetary law was a dutious path to support the supply chain to boost the sector. “Thus the Minister of Agricultural Food and forestry Policies, Gianmarco Centinaio, yesterday at Vinitaly (Verona) in the meeting with Urbani Tartufi, world leader in the sector, with 67% of market share and a turnover of 60 million euros. “I thank the Minister Centinaio – said Giammarco Urbani, the board of Urban Truffles – for the attention devoted to the sector and for having inserted the truffle in the budgetary law. This is an important measure that will allow the sector to be more competitive on international markets.
At the same place, Truffleland was presented, the project launched in 2018 by Urbani Tartufi, which makes a “turnkey” business system available to aspiring truffle growers, thanks to a new patented technique that ensures a 70% mycoisation (the highest concentration of fruit spores with respect to the European market average) and wide crop possibilities. “A system – concluded Giammarco Urbani – which was born to compensate for the fall of truffles in recent years in Italy (-20% according to the data Center National Studies Truffle 2018) and to give future to the Italian truffle and relaunching a sustainable and quality chain”.
